Week 27 This week we get the roof of the rear superstructure
The bits we received

And what we did with them
The first two parts went on with no problem at all.

However, when I tried the second two parts I found a bit of a gap.

The gap is almost 1mm. I could fill this quite easily, but I think that I've probably got something slightly wrong with last week's assembly rather than have poorly fitting parts. If I fill it I think I could end up with a problem fitting the printed deck supplied later.

The solution I came up with sounds a bit drastic, but is quite simple. First separate the two halves using a junior hacksaw. The width of the blade is, by good fortune, almost identical to the size of the gap.

Then I held the two parts together with a peg, and glued the decking in place.

Once the glue was dry I simply braced the cut part with some scraps of plank.

Week 27
Hot tip of the week
Think carefully before assuming parts are a poor fit. Changing the size of parts could lead to problems later on.
